Favorite Part of being an ACTFL Member:

As an ACTFL member, I value the opportunity to celebrate culture and bring its richness into our classrooms. Through its arts, traditions, languages, and histories, culture connects us across borders and generations, fostering empathy and a sense of community. ACTFL provides a vibrant platform for sharing these meaningful elements, inspiring educators to create impactful lessons and exchanges. Whether incorporating holiday traditions or unique cultural practices, ACTFL empowers us to embrace diversity, deepen understanding, and grow together as a passionate community of language educators. Additionally, ACTFL offers exceptional professional development opportunities and the chance to serve the community while developing leadership skills through active involvement with like-minded mentors and colleagues.

Favorite Part of Career:

I am grateful to serve as the TLC SIG Chair. We are standing on the shoulders of giants and deeply appreciate all the past leadership and those who have contributed to making our SIG community a wonderful place to learn, share, and support one another. I'm very fortunate to work with our officers and be part of such an engaged and passionate community. We are one team with one goal: to meet the needs of our members.

One thing I Recently Learned:

The transformative potential of AI tools in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. These tools not only make learning more interactive and accessible but also empower students to take an active role in their education, fostering measurable improvements in language proficiency and cultural competence.

Fun Fact:

I am a proud Buffalo Bills fan, which has taught me to never give up and always hope for the best. The "City of Good Neighbors" has instilled in me a deep sense of community, emphasizing the value of non-sibi (not for self). This inspires me to be present and show up for others. #GoBills
